About

Hi, I'm Mick Peek.
My lifelong passion has been music - especially live music- and I've been going to gigs since I was in my teens in the 1970s.
I studied Illustration at Manchester Poly, getting more and more interested in graphics and I became the poster designer for all the gigs that took place there. I also spent lots of time hanging out with musicians, taking pictures and seeing some of the most iconic bands play as 80s Manchester became “Madchester”. The city was buzzing.
After leaving college, I worked as a graphic designer for City Life Magazine, before becoming freelance with clients like Adidas, Le Coq Sportif, Manchester City Council and lots of local record labels and bands including Take That!
In 1996 I led marketing and merchandising at Manchester City Football Club and was responsible for a full rebranding of the club, including designing a new club badge - the “Eagle Badge”.
In 1998 I left City to work as a Creative Manager at JD Sports, where I was responsible for design, branding and advertising. When shopping on the internet started to become a “thing” I was put in charge of eCommerce and oversaw that becoming a multi-million pound business.
In 2012 I got out of the rat race of big business to get my creative mojo back and spend more time doing the things I love like photography, design and illustration.
For a long time I’ve had people ask about buying copies of my photos and artwork so I’ve finally got round to launching my own website as a way to make this possible.
Please check out my Instagram and Facebook pages, and if you see anything you like that isn’t available here, drop me a message and I’ll look to get you sorted.
